eTalk Special on Linda Schuyler Recap!

So, I arrived at the exact right time for the eTalk special on Linda Schuyler, who is the person who created Degrassi, Instant Star, and a few other shows.

As always, no cameras or bags were allowed in the eTalk studio. According to what I heard a security guard say, there was going to be a meet and greet, but it was cancelled. But that was alright...

So once my Mom and I were finally let in, we were seated on two plastic chairs, right beside Linda Schuyler's parents. My Mom said it was a cool experience to be next to hear parents, because just hearing a little old english woman saying "Are you excited? I'm excited!" and my Mom asked if she watched Degrassi, and she responded "Linda's my daughter!"

My Mom talked a bit with Linda's Mom, talking about how I watch Instant Star, how I'm home schooled, and how I am taking music lessons.

Before the taping totally started, there were trivia questions about Degrassi. I don't watch the show, but I knew one of the answers. The first person to get a question right got a Degrassi t-shirt or a Degrassi CD and a Songs From Instant Star 3 CD. I wasn't the first person to answer the question I knew the answer to...I kind of waited a bit to long to answer, even though I knew the answer immediately.

When it finally started, there were lots of retakes for everything. Tanya Kim hosted the special and she messed up some lines, wasn't always loud enough, and thought that people should clap after they said "eTalk begins right now!"

I was surprised that there was only one Instant Star cast member there...Cory Lee. I kind of wanted there to be more people from the show there, as I am a fan of Instant Star, and don't really care for Degrassi.

Apparently Linda was originally a school teacher, and created the show Degrassi to show and educate teens what goes on in schools. She didn't think that Degrassi would be as huge as it is. I think it is played in 120 countries?

So after the whole event was over, every person there got a t-shirt and/or CDs. I got the CDs, and my Mom got the t-shirt.
