First I promoted it, and now I will review it.
Track 1 is "Next Ex Boyfriend". It was released as a single to Radio Disney, and when you listen to the song, you can tell it was perfect for that and not mainstream radio. The song is catchy and fun, but you can tell it's aimed towards the younger audience. I think I may be a little older than the target audience for this song. I like it, but it's not my favourite.
Track 2 is "I Decide". It's a cover of a Lindsay Lohan song, and Jordan's version is better. Why you ask?
'nuff said.
It is a declaration of independence, and Jordan's proclaiming that she's the one who is running her life, and no one else. She'll take her changes, and if she messes it up, it's her right. Vocally Jordan delivers a good performance, and gets the message across.
Track 3 is "Just Watch Me". It's basically a song where Jordan says she'll be successful, no matter what anyone says. It's a song about believing in yourself. Jordan delivers a powerful vocal performance, full of notes that are hard to hit, and the song is very catchy.
Track 4 is "I Get Weak". It's a cover of the Belinda Carlisle hit. Unlike Belinda's version, Jordan's is upbeat, and a bit more poppy. It's kind of a flip side to I Decide, because she's explaining how the person she's in love with has control over her. She gets weak everytime she's around this person. This is her best vocal performance on the entire EP, hitting many high notes and holding many long notes. It's also a really catchy song, catchier than Belinda's version was.
Track 5 is "Rock 'N' Roll Girl". First I have to say I totally love the synths in the background! This is the catchiest song on the whole EP. It's a fun song you can dance to, and sing along with shamelessly. You don't care how well you sing along with it, because you're having fun. I use earphones to listen to music, so I didn't dance around when I listened to this yesterday, but I kept jumping up and down in my chair, like a baby in its high chair wanting attention. If any other songs from this EP are released as a single, I think this would be a successful one.
Verdict: Even though I wish there could've been a couple other songs, instead of I Get Weak and Just Watch Me, which were already released as iTunes singles, I like this EP. Hopefully the full album will be more Rock 'N' Roll Girl and I Get Weak than Next Ex Boyfriend. This EP isn't for everyone, but if you have a teen pop music craving heart, you'll love it.
7/10.
